The actor, known for his role in “The Last of Us,” surprised fans with his candid admission.

Pedro Pascal, known for his outstanding performance in HBO’s “The Last of Us,” won the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award for male actor in a drama series. However, his acceptance speech took a surprising turn when he confessed to being intoxicated.

Pascal revealed to the audience,

“I’m a little drunk. I thought I could get drunk. I’m making a fool of myself, but thank you so much for this!” His admission was likely due to his disbelief in winning, especially after “Succession’s” Kieran Culkin had previously won the same category at the Golden Globes and Emmy Awards earlier this year.

The actor, who has been a part of the union since 1999, expressed his gratitude, saying, “This is an incredible fucking honor.” He humorously added, “To the nominees, all of you, I can’t remember any of your names right now.”

Pascal’s speech took an emotional turn

As he fought back tears while thanking his family. He then abruptly ended his acceptance speech, saying, “I’m going to have a panic attack and I’m going to leave.”

Despite the unexpected turn of events, Pascal has been creating memorable moments at awards shows this season. At the 2023 Emmy Awards, he joked about a shoulder injury, quipping, “Keiran Culkan beat the shit out of me,” referring to a fellow nominee. Pascal even attended the event wearing an arm sling.

Succession

This year’s other SAG Award nominees for male actor in a drama series included Kieran Culkin, Brian Cox (“Succession”), Billy Crudup (“The Morning Show”), and Matthew Macfadyen (“Succession”).
